Message from
Rabbits Captain 2012 - Steven
Haines
"Gentlemen of 16 handicap
and over, as this years
Rabbits coordinator, I hope
this season will be a
success for the team.
Having played in previous
seasons, I can say that it
is always good fun and
played with a fair but
competitive spirit and I
urge members to come forward
and enjoy this friendly
competition.
Beginning in April with an
away meeting at Saltburn and
finishing with another away
match at Richmond, we will
play 12 matches home and
away against 6 other local
teams in the League. Our
progress in the competition
over the last few years has
been steady and last year we
finished 4th. We can
improve on this and ask for
your support by putting
yourselves forward to play,
remembering that we are
playing both mid week and
weekend fixtures, and then
playing with the consistency
of Luke Donald to score
those all important points
for the team. Last years
scores of 31 points at home
and 26 away gives a target
to aim at and with 2 points
for a win and 1 for a draw,
there is certainly scope to
improve on this.
I hope that everyone who
wishes to play gets a game
but would ask that if you
play, that you stay for the
after meal. We will be
choosing the teams well in
advance of each fixture so
there will be suitable
notice given. I will again
point out that it is open to
ALL gentlemen members of 16
and over handicap at the
start of the season so even
if you go below 16
thereafter, you will still
be eligible.
Let us all have great season
and make Ingleby a fortress
at home and formidable
away! "
Regards
Steven
