Message from
Lady Captain 2012 - Sarah
Pym
Welcome all lady members.
Firstly, I would like to
thank Anne-Marie for all her
hard work last year.
Hopefully we can make 2012
another successful and
enjoyable year for the Club,
and for our nominated
charity, Macmillan Cancer
Support.
2012 looks set to be a very
busy year. We have a full
calendar of events which
include nine internal
competitions and quite a few
‘fun and friendly’
competitions. Social golf
also continues to be a great
way of playing a friendly
game with a variety of
people; Monday, Wednesday
and Friday mornings at 10am,
and there are always ladies
playing at the weekend.
When the evenings get
lighter, there will also be
a twilight tee time for
ladies to play. Due to work,
you will usually find me
playing at the weekends and
in the evenings, although I
will take full advantage of
holidays and be out and
about as much as I can
during the week.
We have two teams
participating in the
Yorkshire Ladies Inter Club
Championships this year.
The “B” Team play matches
during the week and has been
drawn against Middlesbrough,
Scarborough North Cliff and
Moortown Golf Clubs. The ADP
Team plays at the weekends
and is playing Thirsk and
Northallerton, Calverley and
Skidby Lakes Golf Clubs. All
ladies at the golf club are
eligible to play in one or
both of the teams and
hopefully we can get as many
ladies as possible
representing our club this
year. It is an enjoyable way
of meeting other lady
golfers and playing at some
lovely, as well as
challenging, courses.
We will continue to have a
ladies’ coffee morning,
usually on the first
Saturday of every month, at
10am in the Bistro. This is
a chance to catch up with
events and have a chat with
other lady members. Also,
keep an eye on the notice
board in the changing room
for competition sheets and
other information.
Golf is a great game and I
thoroughly enjoy playing at
Ingleby Barwick. I look
forward to being the Lady
Captain for 2012 and wish
all members a happy golfing
year.
